Membership is open to all men of good character whose direct ancestor, uncle, or cousin was in Confederate Service during the War Between the States 1861 -1865.
Prospective members need to contact us at the e-mail address or telephone number listed at the bottom of this page. Fees: Annual SCV Dues = $30.00 National dues run from August 1st to August 1st. Camp dues begin upon date of acceptance into the Lt. Dixon - CSS Hunley Camp. Men joining mid-year get a special break. They can receive 1 ½ years membership if applying in the last six months if they send 1 ½ year’s dues. The same provision applies at 1 ¼ rate if joining in the last three months.
Our History ________________________ We are one of over 800 such camps spread over the United States that derived from the original "United Confederate Veterans" founded in 1896. The statement that follows here was given by Lt. General Stephen D. Lee, Commander General United Confederate Veterans in New Orleans, Louisiana, 1906: "To you, Sons of Confederate Veterans, we submit the vindication of the Cause for which we fought; to your strength will be given the defense of the Confederate soldier's good name, the guardianship of his history, the emulation of his virtues, the perpetuation of those principles he loved and which made him glorious and which you also cherish. Remember, it is your duty to see that the true history of the South is presented to future generations."
